BOLLINGTON AND DISLEY: Matthew Davies (Con)

25/ 4/2008

ONE of my key objectives if elected is to enhance and expand facilities for young people so that their energy can be channelled towards positive means rather become the negative energy of the drink and drugs culture that is the street corner.

Youth awareness is a major concern for the area, children have energy that they will release one way or the other, if they have no where to direct it will become negative energy.  I want to fight to give Children somewhere constructive and objective to release their energy.

Green Belt protection is another major concern.  Bollington, Disley, Rainow, Kerridge, Pott Shrigley, Higher Hurdsfield, Kettleshulme, and Lyme Handley all have areas protected by Green Belt.  We must fight to preserve them once they are gone they will be gone forever.  Green belt is the Garden of our community, if elected I will fight to preserve this.

If elected I will fight for our rural facilities.  I will fight for the preservation and improvement of local facilities from Post Offices to Schools, not there abolition.  Government’s policy of cutting back on rural services will leave residents exposed and remote.

Being the youngest candidate in the field at 28 years old I feel it is important to offer residents a range of policies, as the Conservative team does, as Bollington and Disley is one of the biggest divisions.

I, along with the Conservative Party, offer residents a single minded determination to do well for the community as well as passion and substance on key issues.
