JOHN has lived in Macclesfield Borough for 33 years and been the Liberal Democrat Borough Councillor for the Bollinbrook ward since May 2002.

He is married with three children who went to Upton Priory County Junior School and  Fallibroome High School.   He has been chairman of the Friends of West Park and is a regular supporter of Macclesfield Town Football Club.

As a Borough Councillor he has campaigned and worked on a number of issues including managing the overspill hospital parking through parking zones and yellow lines, extending the alcohol free zone to West Park and trying to preserve the Macclesfield Cricket Club Ground on Victoria Road.   He has also helped many local residents with their own individual enquiries.

John has also built up considerable experience from the many Council Committees and Panels that he sits on such as Planning, Performance Monitoring and IT Disaster Recovery.

If elected, he will work to achieve the best for everyone in Broken Cross, a minimum council tax consistent with the provision of good services and the conservation of our architectural heritage.   And specifically, he wants to see a Macclesfield Town Council, Residents Only Parking in the Coare Street area and the recycling of plastic.

The creation of the Cheshire East Council provides a unique challenge to create a vibrant inclusive efficient organisation that will deliver Value for Money and all of the services required by the residents at an affordable cost.   With his proven experience and reputation for hard work, John wants to be part of that authority to represent the views of Broken Cross and so asks for your support on the 1st May.
