Don’t get caught on the hop over beer festival tickets

THE MACCLESFIELD Beer Festival is on its way and the bands billed to play are sure to get beer-swillers dancing.

The annual charity festival, sponsored by the Macclesfield Express, remains truly local with two Macclesfield bands stealing the show, in the form of the Screaming Beavers, who are making their festival debut, with returning and well-loved Dazed and Confused.

Festival chairman Chris Davies said: "Everyone knows the Screaming Beavers, but few will realise they have never appeared at the festival. Getting them was a masterstroke by our sponsorship coordinator Micky Jones as the band has a massive following. We are delighted to give this band their debut and there’s no question this will increase demand, so I’d advise all customers to get a ticket soon."

The Screaming Beavers are an 11-piece soul band who play disco greats from the sixties and seventies and pack a punch with their large brass section.

Dazed and Confused have kept the festival’s marquee rocking for the past two years and have a couple of local Storm Brewing brewers in the line-up.

Chris said: "The energy Dazed and Confused bring to the stage has to be seen to be believed. Customers may struggle to keep up and will hate it when we close down for the evening, but will be exhausted when we do."

The festival has more then 100 beers, fine wines, cider and soft drinks. The event is raising cash for Park Lane School and is on May 9 and 10 at Macclesfield Rugby Club. Tickets cost £10, including a commemorative pint glass and a programme.

Get your ticket from the Express office on Chestergate, one of the pub ticket outlets or contact Chris by email on macclesfieldbeerfestival@live.co.uk.
