I HAVE worked for the Labour Party for many years. I became a District Councillor in Harlow, Essex where we were living and later became the Chair of the Planning Committee. I served as a School Governor for two local schools during that period and have enjoyed a long career in education .

In Bollington I have resumed my work with the Macclesfield Labour Party and was happy to be co-opted and then re-elected onto the Town Council.

I have been Mayor and concentrated on implementing the Parish Plan in order to develop the social and economic life of the Community. This has included improving community safety by appointing our own Community Police Support Officer and working to improve the appearance of our Conservation Areas.

I started the Highways Enhancement Group to ensure that the Borough and County Council  met the needs of Bollington people. After 6 years I am resigning from the Town Council but am still an active member of the Civic Society.

I feel that I have the energy, time and the relevant experience to serve the wider community of Macclesfield Broken Cross through being on the Cheshire East Council. I support Community Policing, improved recycling, much tougher traffic management and want Cheshire East Council to do more for young people and maintain and develop leisure and community facilities.

If elected I will listen carefully to local views and represent them as strongly as possible on planning and traffic management as well as deal effectively with individual problems.
