I HAVE been resident in Wilmslow for 26 years now and attended Pownall Hall School and King’s School, Macclesfield. I am currently a trainee Architect in Handforth and spend much of my time looking at ways of improving public and community space.
Alderley Edge is a major draw for people from all walks of life due to its rich history, strong character and village atmosphere. However this is slowly being eroded with the gradual demolition of the traditional village streetscape and being replaced by the mass construction of huge apartment blocks. I would like to see some sense of balance restored to Alderley Edge’s streetscape, and in turn the community as a whole, with the qualities that draw people in the first place retained and enhanced.
These are things that really do contribute to the community, and things I truly believe in, and as your councillor I will fight to improve them.
