NELL Carter is married with two children in Cheshire schools, and works as a teacher. She has served three years as a County Councillor for Macclesfield and she is a member of the Children’s Services Scrutiny Committee, Members Learning and Development Committee, a Macclesfield Museum Trustee and School Governor.

She says   “Since election in 2005, improving fair access to Council services for all Macclesfield people has been my priority.  A Sure Start Children’s Centre has opened in Hurdsfield and Labour alone has mounted a vigorous campaign to fight the threats to your schools. Campaigns against reducing choices for parents in the south of the town have been led by Labour members at all times. I urge you to make this vote a referendum on the proposals to reduce Puss Bank School and vote for Labour to protect  Puss Bank and all Macclesfield schools.”

“In the new Unitary Authority the Council will not be able to ‘pass the buck’.  I will work for an end to pot holed roads, to get rid of higher charges for the elderly and to prevent cuts to your libraries.  Better access to recycling for all will be a high priority so that those without transport can still take part; kerbside collections of plastic and a comprehensive collection of household waste are what you deserve.”

“If you want someone who really understands the difficulties of managing a family and work to represent you on the council, please use all your votes for Labour in Macclesfield Town.”
