A man assaulted his ex-partner after accusing her of seeing other men, a court heard.

Jonathan Owen Keeble, 27, hit the woman during a scuffle as he left her house, prosecutors said.

At Macclesfield magistrates’ court, Keeble, of Coronation Street, Macclesfield, admitted assault by beating.

He was sentenced to a 12 month community order, including 15 days rehabilitation activity and 50 hours unpaid work.

Kate Marchuk, prosecuting, said: “Police were called to reports of a domestic incident on Warwick Street on March 30.

“The victim said she had been in relationship with the defendant for four years.

“However, the week before she had ended the relationship.

“The defendant came to the address at 12.15pm.

“He accused [his ex] of being with other men.

“He then tried to grab her phone to look at her Facebook account.”

Lesley Herman, defending, said Mr Keeble accepts he made contact with the complainant while she was behind him and pushing her during the scuffle.
