A financial firm from Macclesfield who took on a physical endurance challenge designed by the Royal Marines have raised hundreds for East Cheshire Hospice.

Quint Group, based on Cottage Street, tackled the Born Survivor challenge at Capesthorne Hall in September, overcoming 30 gruelling hurdles over a 10k distance.

The six staff who took on the challenge included managing director Mike Ransom, Scott Forster, Adam Jones, Andrew Mountford, Charlotte Goodwin and James Lester.

The group managed to raise £1,653.49 which has now been given to the hospice.

A spokesman for Quint said: “We are extremely happy to support the local community, in particular the ECH, who provide a truly wonderful service to families in the surrounding area.

“We overcame 30 plus gruelling hurdles over 10k, with some of our team overcoming phobias to make it to the finish line.”

The Born Survivor obstacle course is the brainchild of an ex-Royal Marine Commando and Falkland’s veteran.

It has run at Capesthorne Hall for the last five years with both 10km and a 42km version.
