A young cast performed to sell-out audiences when they took to the stage in the Bollington Festival Players pantomime.
A cast of 36 children between nine and 16-years-old appeared in this year’s production of Sleeping Beauty. The group – which has won Best Pantomime four years running with the Cheshire Theatre Guild – had a busy week performing a series of shows at Bollington Arts Centre before weekend matinees. The panto was directed by Nigel Wells with co-direction from his daughter, Samantha Wells.

Jane Wells, Nigel’s wife, who runs publicity for the panto, said: “We had an absolutely brilliant cast who knocked the socks off the audiences with amazing performances, great singing, dazzling costumes and stunning lighting.
“This year saw the arrival of a new dame in the shape of Josh Bratherton who delivered his own Dame Dottie Dettol with confidence and over-the-top dameness.
“The plot wound round the castle, through the forest and to the predicted Prince-get-Princess ending, but with a twist.
“Well done cast and crew, can’t wait for the 2017 pantomime.”
