A yob attacked a station ticket office because his train was cancelled.

Dale Edward Bertenshaw, 31, kicked repeatedly at the locked doors and windows of the booking office at Wilmslow train station.

He screamed and swore so much a passenger on the opposite platform became worried for her safety and called the police.

At Macclesfield magistrates’ court Bertenshaw, of Leominster Drive, Wythenshawe, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Debbie Byrne, prosecuting, said: “On May 6 at 9pm the defendant was at Wilmslow railway station when he began kicking the locked booking office door.

“He was heard by a female witness to be shouting ‘open the doors you goon or I will rip your  head off’.

“He then started kicking the glass.

“He was constantly swearing. He then shouted towards the woman, ‘the train’s been cancelled’.

“At that point he walked away from the platform and she called the police.”

Bertenshaw, defending himself, apologised for his actions.

He said: “”My behaviour was out of order and I want to apologise.”

Magistrates fined Bertenshaw £85 with £105 costs.
