A man has been allowed to changed his curfew - so he can practice with his band.

Roger Ainsworth, 51, was banned from leaving his home between 7pm and 7am for three months after admitting assaulting a police constable and being drunk and disorderly.

But the community order with curfew prevented him from playing with his band Select Committee which meet every Thursday night.

Now Ainsworth, of Bransdale Way, Macclesfield, has returned to court and been allowed to change the curfew arrangements to allow him to travel to and from Alderley Edge to practice.

Court documents said the new curfew means that it will be lifted in its entirety on Thursday evenings only.

Ainsworth appeared at Crewe magistrates’ court on March 22 where he admitted being drunk and disorderly on Ivy Road, Macclesfield, and assaulting the constable on September 3, 2015.

He was given an electronically monitored curfew for three months and ordered to pay £500 compensation to the victim of the assault.
