Police are seeking this man after a woman was raped in the underpass beneath Churchill Way in Macclesfield.
The victim was attacked as she walked along Park Lane at around 1am on Saturday, June 4.
It is believed the offender had been pestering her as she walked from Macclesfield town centre and attacked her after she entered the underpass.
Detective Inspector Iain Goodwin said: "This is obviously a very concerning incident and I want to reassure the community of Macclesfield that extra officers have been patrolling the area over the weekend, whilst detectives are working to establish the identity of the offender.
"We have a number of inquiries ongoing but I am keen to speak to anyone that may recognise the man in the CCTV still or indeed the man himself.”
Police are also keen to trace two potential witnesses who spoke to the man and walked with him prior to the attack.
Detective Goodwin said: “I am particularly looking to speak to a man and a woman who spoke to the man on Mill Street prior to the incident. They walked with him for a short time and the two men appeared to be chatting. If this was you then please call police as you could have vital information for my investigation.
"Incidents like this are thankfully rare, however we would always urge people to follow basic safety advice and not walk alone, especially at night - try to stick to well lit areas and always make sure someone knows where you are going and when you should be back.
"The victim is obviously traumatised and has been receiving help and support from specially trained officers and we are determined to find the man responsible for this attack.”
The offender is described as white, around 5ft 6in of stocky build. He had very short dark coloured hair and was wearing dark trousers and a dark coloured t-shirt, which was possibly purple and black. He also had a pierced ear.
