Residents, veterans and civic leaders are to gather in Wilmslow, Handforth, Alderley Edge and Styal to mark Remembrance Day.

There will be services and parades on Sunday to honour those who have died in service to the country.

A parade of Wilmslow’s ex-servicemen will march from the Legion Club on Grove Avenue at 9.30am and arrive at Wilmslow Parish Church for a 10am service.

The procession will then gather at 11am for a two-minute silence and the wreath laying ceremony in the Garden of Remembrance.

It will then head back to the British Legion for refreshments.

Handforth Royal British Legion’s service will be held at St Chad’s Church at 10.30am.

A wreath will be laid in the Garden of Remembrance at the club headquarters on Station Road.

In Alderley Edge the Royal British Legion at Alderley Edge will be joined by the chairman of Alderley Edge Parish Council, scouts, guides, brownies and cubs, and Bollington Air Cadets band for a parade from Festival Hall to St Philip and St James Church for a Service of Remembrance.

Residents in Styal will gather for a two minute silence at Styal cenotaph.
