An 82-year-old man has been arrested in Wilmslow over historical allegations of rape and indecent assault.
Lancashire Police arrested the man at his home in Wilmslow and took him in for questioning earlier.
A force spokesman said: "We take all allegations of sexual abuse extremely seriously.
"We would encourage people with any information about sexual abuse or who has been a victim to come forward and report their concerns."
