Police are looking for volunteers to make their community safer.

The Home Watch Scheme encourages residents to share crime prevention information.

There are currently 195 households in the Wilmslow and Alderley Edge areas actively taking part.

But police are appealing for more.

PCSO Sarah Stanley said: "Residents of a community possess a very specialised knowledge of their neighbourhood and this is a great advantage.

"By letting the police know of anything suspicious you see or hear, you are helping to reduce the opportunities for crime to occur.

The more difficult it can be made for criminals, the more likely it is that crime can be reduced."

If you would like more information on Home Watch, joining or setting up a scheme please contact PCSO Stanley (Wilmslow South), PCSO Gareth Harding (Wilmslow North), or PCSO Jim Newns (Alderley Edge) on 0845 458 6374.
