Vandals have caused ‘hundreds of pounds’ of damage to trees in a popular park.

At least six young trees were snapped or ripped from the ground at Jasmine Park in Broken Cross around 11pm on Saturday, February 6.

The damage was spotted on Sunday morning by dog walker Andy Beaden who plans to complain to the police.

He said: “I spoke to someone who house overlooks the park and he believes the trees are worth hundreds of pounds.

“This is mindless vandalism. It is a beautiful park that everyone enjoys: dog walkers, children, footballers. It’s a real asset in our community, but some idiots have just come along and wrecked it. There is no need for it.”
