Disgraced former TV presenter and radio broadcaster Stuart Hall is facing fresh allegations, police confirmed today.

Hall, 83, from Wilmslow, Cheshire, admitted 14 counts of indecent assault against girls aged as young as nine between 1967 and 1987 earlier this year.

He was jailed for 15 months, but the sentence was later doubled to 30 months by Court of Appeal judges after a public outcry.

Lancashire Police today confirmed the force has received 'further allegations', but declined to go into any more detail.

A spokesman said officers were working with the Crown Prosecution Service to 'determine the most appropriate course of action'.

In a statement, Lancashire Police said: “We can confirm that we have received further allegations against Mr Hall and we are working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service to determine the most appropriate course of action.

“We take all allegations of sexual abuse seriously and we would encourage people with any information about sexual abuse or who has been a victim of sexual abuse to come forward and report their concerns confident in the knowledge it will be investigated appropriately and with sensitivity.”

The former It’s a Knockout presenter also presented BBC North West Tonight in the 1980s.

A court was told Hall exploited his role as a popular BBC presenter to target four of his victims, while he assaulted another four on the pretence of giving elocution lessons to them at his home.

He was arrested and subsequently charged, on December 5 last year, with indecently assaulting three young girls.

More women came forward as a result of publicity and he was rearrested before later admitting sexual offences relating to 13 victims. Before entering his guilty plea in April, he had made a public pronouncement, describing all the claims against him as ‘cruel, pernicious and spurious’.
