The tenants at Rossendale Trust made everyone welcome for their annual summer fete, which raised more than £6,000 for the charity.
There was music, stalls and fun in the grounds of Rossendale Hall, off Hollin Lane, which provides accommodation and supports adults with disabilities.
Sue Heaven, head of fundraising, said: “It was a record turnout, thanks to the blazing sunshine.
“So many local people, friends, and family of our tenants turned up to help out and support us. We made over £6,000.
“We were so pleased it didn’t rain after the washout that Saturday was.
“We couldn’t do it without the help of so many volunteers, as well as our staff giving their time for free. People baked cakes, manned the coconut shy, barbecue and so much more. The money raised will go directly to benefit the lives of the adults with learning and physical disabilities that we care for here at Rossendale. It’s a great cause.”
The Rossendale Trust supports people with learning and physical disabilities to lead the very best lives they can.
Fifty-eight people live in apartments at the Trust’s main site or in one of three other properties in Macclesfield.
The trust aims to create an environment where everyone is encouraged to reach their full potential and also runs a popular day service ‘Oakwood’, which offers social activities including media, leisure, swimming and crafts.
