The two 16-year-olds were seriously injured in an accident on Buxton Old Road on October 11.

A black Vauxhall Corsa driven by a 17-year-old man collided with a wall on the Buxton Old Road before flipping onto its roof at around 10.50pm.

It had been travelling from Tegg’s Nose in the direction of Macclesfield when the incident occurred.

Two of the passengers, both 16-year-old girls from Macclesfield, sustained significant injuries.

One of the 16-year-olds, who has not been named and was being treated at Mancester Royal Infirmary, is now out of hospital and in recovery.

Hannah Ditcham, a pupil at Fallibroome Academy, is still being treated at Salford Royal Hospital, a trauma centre specialising in head injuries.

She is in a stable condition but is seriously ill.

The driver and a third passenger – a 16-year-old girl from Macclesfield – suffered minor injuries.

Police have confirmed that they have made no arrests following the accident.
