AN ANGRY teenager lashed out at a woman in a bar after a fallout over her boyfriend, a court heard.

Danika France, 18, swung a punch at Victoria Prendergast in the Society Rooms Wetherspoons pub on Park Green after receiving a text from the victim about her boyfriend, Macclesfield Magistrates' Court heard.

It was the second time France appeared in court this month after she pleaded guilty to posting on Facebook a video of a friend Leah Trevena having sex.

France filmed Miss Trevena in bed with a man after a night out without their consent after walking in on them in a bedroom, the hearing was told.

France, of Athey Street, Macclesfield, pleaded guilty to assault at a hearing on Tuesday in connection with the incident in the pub.

She will be sentenced for both offences in the New Year. In relation to the assault charge, the court heard that France admitted swinging a punch but said she didn’t hit the victim.

Bev Dobson, prosecuting, said: “The defendant was very angry and looking for the victim in the bar after she sent her a text message saying she had been out with her boyfriend.

“She shouted abusive threats and swung a punch but said it didn’t connect.

“She accepted she grabbed the victim’s hand to try and get her phone and poked her and wiped tears from her face in a sarcastic manner, which all amounts to assault.

“The victim said she felt pain and discomfort when the punch connected with her face but at about level three where level one is a light tap and 10 is a full force punch.”

France pleaded guilty to assault by beating on August 13 on the day a trial was scheduled to take place.

John Gallagher, defending, said: “CCTV shows she swung a punch but it’s not conclusive whether it connected.

“She didn’t appreciate that by touching and poking the victim or grabbing her hand that an assault had been committed.”

The court heard that on Wednesday, December 10, France pleaded guilty to sending a video to Facebook of non explicit sexual activity which conveyed a message which was indecent for the purpose of causing distress under the Malicious Communications Act. The court heard she filmed her friend Leah Trevena in bed with a man after a night out. France said she had deleted the video but a month later when the pair fell out she posted the video on Facebook.

Mr Gallagher said: “The cases are different in gravity but show similarities about how the defendant deals with relationships.”

Sentencing was adjourned until January 21 for a pre-sentence report.
