CHRISTMAS is just two weeks away – and although you have donated lots of wonderful gifts for the BiG Storage Toy Appeal, we do need more.

Any gifts you donate that are not handed out at Christmas are then used for birthday presents and the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust also sends all visiting children throughout the year away with a ‘special goodie bag’, so new toys are always appreciated and needed for this.

Helen Crowther, senior trust fundraiser for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, said: "We are so grateful that Big Storage has chosen to support us with their 2009 Toy Appeal.

"This is such a magical time of year for us here at The Adventure Farm, with approximately 600 children benefiting from a Christmas party they will remember for ever. The toys and gifts donated through the Toy Appeal are amazing, we are so grateful to everyone who donates – they really are helping us to make a difference in the lives of children in desperate need. On behalf of each and every child, thank you, thank you, thank you."

The appeal is for NEW toys, suitable for children and teenagers up to the age of 16. Don’t forget the older children – who are just as easy to buy for as the little ones.

Some suggestions are toiletries, which go down a treat for girls and boys; as do accessories, photo frames, hair care products, perfumes and aftershaves, scarves and gloves. Please donate your gifts, unwrapped, so the charities can select suitable presents for the children and teenagers they represent.

Toys and gifts can still be received until Friday, December 18, in order to give the charities plenty of time to sort them for distribution to the families prior to Christmas.

So please give the children and teenagers a thought when you are out this weekend doing your Christmas shopping.

Don’t worry if you can’t get your gift to us by this date, as we will ensure all late donations are passed on in time for Christmas.

* This is the third year BiG Storage has run a Christmas Toy Appeal in conjunction with the Wilmslow Express.

This year the charities to benefit include the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, which provides holidays and activities for terminally ill, chronically sick and disabled children, Henshaws Society for the Blind and The David Lewis Centre.

BiG Storage at Handforth Dean is the main drop-off point for the donated toys. The donations will then be stored in a clean, dry and secure storage unit until they are needed for Christmas delivery to the recipient children from the nominated charities.

BiG Storage is on Earl Road, Stanley Green Industrial Estate, Handforth Dean SK8 6PT (just off the A34 near M&S) – just look for the BiG Storage sign. Alternatively visit www.bigstorage.info for a map.

Toys can be dropped off Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm and from 9am-4pm on Saturdays or 10am-4pm on Sundays at the BiG Storage reception, which will be clearly sign posted. Ask for Len, Keith, Trish or Jacci or ring 0161 486 6000.
