MUSICAL Friends of Dan Barlow, who died in a car crash in February, have written and released a charity single in his memory.

SILVERBACK L-R Lee Wadsworth and Vaughan Bagnall

Silverback featuring Lee Wadsworth and Vaughan Bagnall wrote and recorded the song Sunshine inspired by the 33-year-old married dad of two.

Dan, of Primrose Avenue, Macclesfield, died when his Volkswagen Golf collided with a Range Rover on Farm Lane, Lower Withington, as he drove to his nursing job at Leighton Hospital.

Lee, 47, of Whitfield Road on the Moss, and Vaughan, 59, from Marton, wanted the song to reflect the positivity which Dan brought to people’s lives.

He said: “Dan was and will always be the ‘Sunshine’ in our day. He was a once-in-a-lifetime human being who could cross any generation through his warmth and kindness.

“Dan brought great happiness to many people’s lives both personally within his family and friends and in his professional life as a specialist pain nurse. He was a keen mountain biker who enjoyed the countryside and these aspects are also reflected in the lyrics.”

The song can be downloaded on iTunes and at Amazon for 79p.

All profits will go to ECHOES, a service at East Cheshire Hospice for bereaved children.

Lee added: “ECHOES is a massively underfunded service which does amazing work within our community. In memory of Dan we want to raise as much money as we can to help it expand and do more of its brilliant work.”
