Rogue traders are targeting homes selling fake cutlery and cookware.

The goods are labelled ‘St Moritz’ from Switzerland but in fact made in China.

The doorstep caller allows customers to pay by credit card with a card reader and asks for the amount to be paid in Euros.

The rogue traders claim they are from a European country that has been to a trade show at the NEC Arena in Birmingham and want to sell the remainder of their products before returning home.

Residents have paid as much as £1,500 for goods when the true value is be considerably less.

If you are offered such goods contact the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 08454 04 05 06.
