Twelve-year-olds Harry and Thomas Derricott, who both have Down’s Syndrome, got suited and booted for the pop star’s gig in Manchester and their proud mum, Jill Perry, posted a picture of them on the social networking site.

It soon attracted more than 417,000 likes on the Down’s Syndrome Association Facebook page.

The boys, who both go to Wilmslow High School, picked up a love of Take That from their mum, who with sister Liz Perry and her partner Sean Delaney, have taken the boys to a number of their gigs. Harry has taken a particular shine to Robbie and Thomas likes Gary, which mum Jill says suits their personalities.

Jill, of the Summerfields estate, also mum to Jordan, 19, said: “Harry is a bit more independent and extrovert, he’s obsessed with Robbie. He’s very fashion conscious. Thomas is more for Gary Barlow, but they both love music and love to sing, listening to musicals from a young age.”

The chances of having twins who both have Down’s Syndrome are one in a million, and proud Jill says she is thrilled with the attention her boys have received.

Jill added: “We had no idea the boys had Down’s Syndrome before they were born. Nothing had been picked up in tests. It was a shock and a sad time, but we never wanted to treat them any differently. It saddens us children like the twins used to be hidden away. The boys are absolutely adorable and thriving at school. I’m so proud.”
