ROLL out the barrel because tickets for Macclesfield's 13th beer festival went on sale this week.

That's right, it's the time of year again when the expectation builds for the town's most famous celebration of real ale - so now's the time to bag yourself entry to the event with more than 100 CAMRA-recommended drinks. After being saved by the Express two years ago the Macclesfield Round Table have organised a weekend's drinking. And this year's event promises to be a blinder with the town's furniture empire Arighi Bianchi; popular curryhouse, The Balti Kitchen, on Park Green, and favourite newspaper, the Macclesfield Express, all backing the booze-up bonanza in aid of the East Cheshire Hospice.

Tickets are priced at £10 and are on sale from the Admiral Rodney in Prestbury, AstraZeneca Club AZ, Bear Town Tap in Congleton, Macclesfield Express, The Ox-fford, Waters Green Tavern, Ye Olde Kings Head, Gurnett, The Poachers Inn, Bollington and Porter's on Roe Street.

For your money you get a commemorative glass, programme and live music all in the wonderful surroundings of Macclesfield Rugby Club, Prestbury Road, on Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12.
