RAINOW’S former New Order and Joy Division drummer Stephen Morris is to lead a debate on Manchester’s legendary music scene.

Stephen, who was at the heart of the city’s Factory Records in its heyday, will make a rare public appearance later this month.

The ‘Stephen Morris and Friends Music Debate’ is open to the public and takes place at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester on Friday, November 27.

It will see the percussionist share the floor with former Hacienda DJ Graeme Park. The pair will talk about their experiences from the `Madchester’ era and take questions.

The debate will examine the local music industry past, present and future, taking in the legacies of bands including The Smiths, The Happy Mondays, New Order, Joy Division and Oasis as well as emerging talent.

Tickets are priced £8 on the door or £5 in advance, or available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk or the hotline on 0844 847 2261. Tickets are non-refundable.
