A FATHER-of-three branded a ‘thug’ by a judge has been banned from 15 town centre bars and pubs for two years after admitting violently assaulting a pair of off-duty policemen.
Wayne Kyle Jones, 25, of Greystoke Road, Macclesfield, was handed an exclusion order at Chester Crown Court on Monday, November 16.
He had pleaded guilty to charges of grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm against the men, who are brothers, at the same court last month.
Jones broke one brother’s nose and the other’s jaw in an unprovoked town centre attack on May 2 that left one witness "feeling sick", the court heard.
Judge David Clarke, who deferred sentence until May 14 next year, imposed the exclusion order with immediate effect.
"Every single assault is within Macclesfield, all within the town centre, all at a licensed premises, either fighting in a nightclub or (other) licensed premises, or being aggressive with doormen or police officers trying to apprehend him, so it is a bit of a litany," he said.
Simon Parry, counsel for the defence, said alcohol had been Jones’ coping strategy but that he had since turned his life around after becoming primary carer of his three young children, due to the illness of his partner.
Judge Clarke said: "Since this offence was committed, there have been a number of marked changes in your life and you have started to present rather a different person to the thug (you did previously)."
