Police have warned residents in Sutton to keep their door and windows locked after an attempted burglary on Wednesday night.

The incident took place on Wednesday, August 24 between 6.30pm and 7.45 pm on Ridge Hill.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.50am on Thursday, August 25 with a report of a burglary at a house in Ridge Hill, Sutton.

“It is believed to have occurred on August 24 between 6.30pm and 7.45pm when burglars entered through a back door.

“Animals at the property began barking and the burglars left.

“Nothing was stolen.”
