Police are seeking a cyclist who may have witnessed a serious collision in Mobberley.

The incident happened on Burleyhurst Lane at around 4pm on Tuesday, January 10.

A blue Ford Fiesta was travelling along the road in the direction of Mobberley when it was overtaken by a Black Porsche Cayenne.

The two vehicles collided and the Fiesta left the road and smashed into a tree and overturned.

As a result of the collision the driver of the Fiesta, a 53 year old man from Cheshire, received serious injuries.

He is currently being at Wythenshawe Hospital in South Manchester.

It is believed that both vehicles overtook a single cyclist, also travelling towards Mobberley, just before the collision.

The rider of the bicycle was not traced at the time, however police are now asking them to get in touch.

A 66 year old man from Siddington, near Macclesfield, was arrested at the scene and reelased on police bail.
