Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a 50-minute getaway attempt across Macclesfield.
Men in hoods were seen leaving a house on Hocker Lane, Over Alderley, by the homeowners at around 11am today.
Police cars and a helicopter were sent out to track them at 11.20am and two men were eventually arrested at 12.12pm on the M56.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: "Cash, jewellery and watches had been taken.
"Two men aged 25 and 27 from Manchester were subsequently arrested 50 minutes later on the M56 on suspicion of burglary."
