Around 300 people joined in the fun of the 86th Gawsworth Rose Queen Fete.
Families and children enjoyed a host of entertainments including a samba band, a miniature steam train, a bouncy castle and a beat the goalie game at the event at Gawsworth Primary School on Saturday.
There was also a professional dog show for pet lovers, a coconut shy, a luxury tombola, craft stalls and a selection of tempting cakes to try.
For the adults there was also a beer tent and a bar with a BBQ for everyone.
Former Rose Queens who attended with their sash from last year’s event were given free entry and a complimentary cup of tea.
Rachel Fregapane, mum of Rose Queen Scarlet, 11, attended by Year 6 pupils Connie and Lucy, said: “It was a fabulous day.
“The weather held out for the parade and I was so proud to see Scarlet crowned Rose Queen.”
Year 6 pupil Sammy was the crown bearer for the day with another pupil from Year 6, Euan, taking on the role of cape holder.
Laura Lewis, who works at the school, said: “There was an amazing atmosphere on the day and it brought the whole school and the village together.”
