An elderly woman has died after being hit by a heavy goods vehicle in Alderley Edge.
Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after being informed of the incident at 1.40pm on Wednesday, forcing the closure of London Road.
A police spokeswoman said: "At just before 1.40pm today Cheshire Police were informed of a road traffic collision that had occurred on London Road, Alderley Edge. The collision involved a pedestrian and a heavy goods vehicle.
"I can confirm that the elderly pedestrian has sadly died."
The identity of the 69-year-old victim has not yet been made public.
