The Silk museum is giving aspiring artists an opportunity to display their work in its annual open exhibition.

Artists of all levels and talents are invited to submit work for the Open Art Exhibition at the museum, which will be on display at the Silk Museum for two months over Christmas.

The exhibition is open to all, but an independent panel will choose the final pieces to be displayed

Rose Smith, from the museum, said: “With around 300 works submitted by artists from across the northwest, last year’s exhibition was a huge success and the expectation is that this year will be even better.

“The exhibition is open to artists of all ages, with no restrictions on subject or style. And there are prizes to be won!”

The exhibition will run from Saturday, November 28, until Saturday, January 9. And this year there are four prizes to be won including ‘The Silk Museum Award’, the Mail Boxes Etc. Award and Visitor Choice award – as voted for by visitors to the exhibition.

Entry forms and guidelines are available from the Silk Museum, the Macclesfield Visitor Information Centre and Cheshire East libraries. They can also be downloaded from the website silkmacclesfield.org.uk.

Submissions must be handed in on Friday, and Saturday, November 6 & 7.
