Staff on the Intensive Care Unit at Macclesfield Hospital are raising money to improve the room for relatives to use when visiting patients.

The team has been raising money to brighten up the relatives room at the ward and have just installed a new floor paid for by money raised during a sponsored climb at Snowden.

Now businesses have donated prizes for a raffle this Friday.

The staff need to raise £500 to paint the room and provide furniture for visiting relatives.

Sarah Trelore, staff nurse, said: “It’s so important that this room is as comfortable and welcoming as possible for our relatives.

"They will often be in hospital with their family members who are gravely ill and we need to look after them too.”

Staff will sell tickets at the main entrance at the hospital on Friday from 2pm before the draw at 4pm.
