Police are appealing for witnesses in the Lostock Hall area of Poynton after a woman was found dazed at the side of the road and in need of hospital treatment.

Paramedics went to assist the 31-year-old local woman, who may have been attacked, at lunchtime on Friday, January 21.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "(Paramedics) contacted police because there was a suggestion that she may have been assaulted while walking he dog in the area at lunchtime."

The woman was treated at hospital for minor injuries and then released.

Police are asking members of the public who were in the vicinity of Lostock Hall Road between noon and 2pm to contact them if they witnessed anything unusual in the area or saw anyone behaving suspiciously.

Police enquiries are continuing to determine what exactly may have happened and patrols in the area are underway to reassure local people.
