MPs' claims beggar belief

DESPITE the furore surrounding MP’s expenses our politicians just don’t seem to get it.

DESPITE the furore surrounding MP’s expenses our politicians just don’t seem to get it.

So, let’s spell it out: you discover your housekeeper, a lady you trust implicitly, has been charging your account with all manner of personal items disguised as ‘household expenditure’. She goes into immediate denial before finally accepting her deception and agrees to pay back the money.

Do you allow her to continue her duties as if nothing had happened or terminate her employment forthwith?

Assuming all those MPs who insist they were totally unaware of any excessive claims are telling the truth. Do we, as an electorate, want such naive individuals in charge of the United Kingdom? Should they insist we wage war on another nation? How can we possibly trust their judgement?

If, on the other hand they are being ‘economical with the truth’ then we don’t want them.

Either way they need to go. I have but one word for them all – goodbye.
