A multi-millionaire smashed up his girlfriend’s bedroom before attacking two police officers because he was ‘stressed’.

Anthony Noon, 52, of Pedley Hill, Adlington, also threw his partner’s clothes out of the window and damaged her car in the frenzied outburst, sparked because he couldn’t find his liver transplant medication. His partner hid outside in the bushes for two hours as he went ‘ballistic’.

Appearing before Macclesfield magistrates on August 5, he pleaded guilty to criminal damage and two offences of obstructing arrest.

Prosecuting, Simon Pover said Noon awoke his sleeping girlfriend at 12.30am on June 26, and started smashing up the bedroom and throwing her clothes out of the window.

That caused her to flee the house and hide in nearby bushes.

He said: "Mr Noon then picked up some furniture and threw it at his lady friend, fortunately nothing struck her. She then became extremely afraid and left the address and hid in some bushes outside."

He added that she then emerged to speak to Noon who had her handbag, but ran away and called the police when he turned his attention to her black Suzuki Swift, smashing the wing mirrors and bending the wipers. At 4.30am the police forced their way into the property.

Mr Pover added: "The two officers described Mr Noon as going ballistic and charging at them."

He added that he had knocked both officers to the ground during the arrest. Defending Noon, John Gallagher said that he was an asset millionaire several times over but he was having money trouble and his Adlington home was at risk of being repossessed.

He said: "Mr Noon has been under a tremendous about of stress, he was a successful businessman but one of his companies went into liquidation some two years ago. He has no savings but he has an enormous asset wealth – asset-wise he is a multimillionaire. His has a mortgage of £535,000 on his address in Adlington. Some two weeks prior to this incident he had a heart attack."

He added that Noon had become frustrated with his partner because he couldn’t find the medication he was on following a liver transplant.

He said: "He went up to the bedroom to find his medication , he couldn’t find it, got stressed and reacted very badly. He accepts he caused damage to the vehicle and when the police arrived he didn’t react very well."

He added that he has two houses in Barbados worth £2million each, and a house in Spain he is hoping to sell to raise capital.

Chairman of the bench Alan Fryer said: "Mr Noon, because of your health you are unfit for unpaid work."

Noon was given a curfew order and he must remain indoors between the hours of 7pm and 7am and was ordered to pay compensation of £100 to each police officer.
