Yoga teachers went on a retreat to find inner peace - but found love instead.

It was love at first sight for limber lovebirds Andrew Wrenn and Francesca Giusti who were on a yoga retreat in India when they first set eyes on each other. But after a week of getting to know each other the pair faced a unique challenge of having to spend the next week in complete silence as part of the retreat rules.

It was during that experience that cupid’s arrow truly struck, and now the couple are getting married in Italy on August 22.

The couple have been living together in Macclesfield since 2012 and run Pure Yoga Cheshire Studios, at Charlotte Street, Macclesfield.

Andrew, 44, said: “Neither of us were looking for love in the Indian jungle. We were there to deepen our knowledge and practice of yoga. As soon as we met we had a connection. Then we had to spent a whole week in silence and saw something in each other’s eyes.”

Francesca, 44, said: “Yoga is a fantastic way of connecting with yourself and a retreat really breaks the down the barriers - so you are truly yourself.”

Andrew’s three children will be at the wedding: Zarah, 11, Kizzy, 15, and best man Henry, 20.
