A marathon runner has completed his 10th race in aid of a popular charity - raising £20,000 over the years.

Toby Eyre, of Minor Avenue, Lyme Green ran his tenth and final London Marathon in aid of the Rossendale Trust, on Hollin Lane, Sutton.

He completed the impressive feat to help the trust in its work to care for adults with learning and physical disabilities. It was a bounce back to form for Toby who last year was unable to compete due to a serious road accident.

He’s counted up his sponsorship and has raised around £20,000 over the years.

Toby has raced in various fancy dress costumes and with his wife Claire on their honeymoon in 2005.

Toby, a professional motorcycle instructor who owns County Biker Training in Moss Lane, Macclesfield, said: “Over the years I’ve run dressed as Jack the Ripper, Zorro, Ginger Spice, Voodoo Witch Doctor, and three times Evel Knevel.

“I’m grateful for all the sponsorship I’ve received in aid of this very worthy local charity.”

The Rossendale Trust, which provides supported living and care to 58 adults, is currently upgrading its horticulture project at the site.
