A man has gone on trial accused of raping a woman and assaulting her three times in the space of three days.

Michael Celensu, 23, is alleged to have carried out the attacks in Macclesfield.

Mr Celensu, of Meadscroft Drive, Alderley Edge, admitted one assault occasioning actual bodily harm but denies rape and assault by beating at Chester Crown Court.

Recorder Steve Riordan QC will sit for the trial, which is expected to last about five days.

Prosecutor Kim Halsall said Mr Celensu threatened the complainant telling her to perform a sex act on him.

She said: “He said to her ‘don’t think about turning me down’.

“She performed [a sex act] but felt she didn’t have a choice. She said she felt horrible afterwards.”

The court heard that the complainant later went to the police.
