A man has appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Macclesfield town centre.
Samuel Thomas Jones, 27, of Cross Street, Macclesfield, appeared in Runcorn magistrates’ court on June 4 charged with sexual assault.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on July 4.
The charge relates to an incident alleged to have occurred in the Lower Exchange Street area of Macclesfield at about 3.30am on Friday, June 3.
Officers cordoned off an area of Pickford Street after receiving reports of an incident.
