The police inspector in charge of Macclesfield is leaving.

Inspector Jez Taylor will take up a new role managing East Cheshire partnership teams such as football liaison, prolific offenders and crime reduction.

He is expected to move on in the New Year, just short of his third anniversary in Macclesfield.

Inspector Taylor said: "I have really enjoyed my time in Macclesfield but I am looking forward to the fresh challenge a move will bring."

His replacement will be Inspector Steve Griffiths, who is currently in charge of Knutsford.
