A young football fan scored VIP treatment at his first ever City game after winning a competition.

Six-year-old Manchester City fan Bobby Fox-Cooper, from Broken Cross, was treated to the Blue Carpet Experience at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, where he watched his team play against United in the Manchester Derby.

Bobby won the experience after entering a competition run by Match Of The Day magazine, aimed at giving young football fans their first live game experience.

Bobby, who is a pupil at Whirley Primary School and hadn’t been to the stadium before, impressed judges by writing 50 words about what the experience would mean to him.

He went to the game with his grandmother Linda Fox. He also got to meet club mascots Moonchester and Moonbeam, and stood pitchside to watch the players warm up.

Bobby said: “This has been my best day ever. The tour of the training ground and stadium was really cool.

“The best bit was getting to high-five the players, including David Silva. I loved seeing my name on the big screen and we sat right behind the City goal so I was next to one of my favourite players, Joe Hart.

“I can’t wait to tell my friends and teachers about my special day”.
