Men hiding their faces with bandanas have held up a bank in a terrifying raid.

The frightening robbery took place today (Friday, May 1) at the Royal Bank of Scotland on Park Green while the bank was closed to the public.

However staff were on the premises.

It is believed three men forced their way into the rear of the bank.

One of them was brandishing a chisel or a screwdriver.

They stole cash from the tills before making off.

Police were called to the scene at 9.51am.

They have cordoned off the scene and are making a search of the area.

A police spokesman said: “The bank was closed to the public at the time and staff who were present were not injured, but were left shaken.

“The men were wearing dark clothing, white or light coloured gloves and had covered their faces with bandanas

“Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 227 of 1 May 2015.
