A mum is appealing for information after a driver smashed into her family’s cars and home and drove off.

Just after 4.30am on Sunday, a driver crashed into Kathryn Ashcroft’s car on the road outside the house on Oak Lane, Kerridge, which she shares with partner Jamie Muncaster.

The smash pushed the Volkswagon Beetle on the kerb, bending its front wheel under the car and crushing Kathryn’s front wall.

Jamie’s Kia Sportage parked next to the Volkswagon was also damaged and shunted into a neighbour’s van, which suffered a dent in the back.

Kathryn, 36, mum to Milo, three, said the family were asleep when the crash happened.

She said: “I heard a loud bang and thought it came from Milo’s room. Then I realised it must have been a car but couldn’t see anything out the window.

“When I went outside I saw my car on the pavement and smashed into the wall.

“The driver must have crashed into Jamie’s car too. It’s shocking they just drove off.”

The driver made off along Jackson Lane towards Bollington.

She called police who collected debris left on the road which they believe to have come off the offending vehicle. Officers think it could have been a dark-coloured Vaxhaull.

Kathryn took to social media to ask residents for help to identify the driver.

She said: “I want to thank everyone who helped with information so far. We have a problem with cars speeding along our road and hope someone will help us catch this driver.”

The incident took place on Sunday, April 6, at 4.40am. Call police on 101 with information.
