COURAGEOUS Jade Prest made her small screen debut last week, appearing on GMTV to raise awareness of the cancer of cyber-bullying.

Jade, 16, was interviewed by Kate Garroway on the famous sofa last Wednesday morning (August 30).

The TV show got in touch with the pretty Gawsworth teenager after reading our exclusive story in the Macclesfield Express about how her life was made a misery in an 18-month hate campaign orchestrated by fellow female students at Henbury High School.

But, as we reported, the brave girl courageously spoke out against the mob, giving hope and inspiration to other victims and their parents.

She said: "I was a bit nervous and we had to be in at 6am. I was worried about my make-up, to be honest!

"But it all went fine in the end and I am planning to carry on working with Bullying Online to raise awareness of the problem."

On Jade's request, the Macclesfield Express contacted the anti-bullying charity and arranged a meeting.

Jade's mum Judy said: "Jade is going to carry on working with them on their latest campaign and there are plans for a charity day, leaflet and poster drive in schools.

"She has had a really busy fortnight what with her GCSE results, which she passed, then with the TV and her visit to London, she's been promoted to head waitress at work and she has just started her childcare course at the college as well!

"But the whole family are so proud of her and people keep recognising her and stopping her at work and in the street to say: 'Well done'.

"She's been getting fantastic support all over the town."

Jade is now beginning her course as she pursues her dream to become a primary school teacher.

She said: "I would love to do that and I think part of it is that I would be in a position to stop what happened to me, happening to others."

Judy added: "And the best thing is that the bullies are now running scared. She saw one of them in town the other week and she just bent her head and walked away ashamed."
