POLICE scrambled a helicopter during a two hours search for a missing man.

Eyewitnesses reported that officers urged residents in Bollington were urged to remain in their own homes on Thursday (October 9) evening as they tried to find the man, who was suffering with mental health issues.

After threatening to harm himself, the missing person was eventually found safe and well by officers after a two hour search.

Inspector Steve Griffiths, head of Macclesfield police, said: “‘There was a male with mental health issues who had threatened to harm himself.

“After the police helicopter was called in he was eventually found safe and well.”
