Two golfers will be swinging into town for a marathon golf charity fundraiser.

Richard Harrison and James Marner will test their golfing abilities, fitness and mental toughness while boosting the coffers of East Cheshire Hospice.

The pair will be hitting balls for 18 hours at Styal Golf Club and will cover around 24 miles in memory of Richard's dad who died of cancer earlier this year.

He was a life long member of Styal Golf Club.

Richard said: "The aim is to play as many holes as possible in one day.

"It will be a tough challenge enduring teeing off at 4am and finishing around 10pm covering about 24miles.

"We are aiming for sponsorship of 10p per hole or whatever people can donate. we have already had a lot of positive replies from friends and family."

Darren Lamon and Russ Tomlinson will caddy for the duo.

The event will take place on June 24.
