Housing bosses have apologised after workers blocked a pavement forcing children to walk in the road.
The van, which belonged to Peaks and Plains Housing Trust, parked up on Parkett Heyes Road in Broken Cross during rush hour.
It forced dozens of parents and children on their way to Broken Cross primary and the children’s centre to walk in the road.
Kay Cross, who was walking her daughter Maddison to school, took a photo of the blunder yesterday morning (Feb 24) and her husband Darren contacted the Express.
Darren, 43, of Princess Way, said: “I was furious when Kay told me what had happened. It was such a dangerous thing to do. Forcing parents and people with disabilities into the road, not to far from a corner. It was a terrible accident waiting to happen.”
A spokesman for Peaks & Plains said: “We expect all our members of staff to park responsibly on the public highway.
“We can only apologise for any inconvenience caused to local residents and will be taking the appropriate action to ensure that this does not happen again.”
