The funeral of James Mottershead will take place this Friday.

James, 30, died on Saturday three days after marrying the love of his life, Letitia Bull.

He was diagnosed with testicular cancer in February last year and fought bravely against the disease.

But at the start of the year James was told he had only months to live.

James and Letitia's wedding, which had been planned for September, was raced forward to March 21 and was being organised by charity Gift of a Wedding.

But sadly James’s health deteriorated and the couple exchanged nuptials in a small ceremony at their home on the Moss estate on March 11.

James passed away on March 14.

His new wife Letitia, pictured with James and their four year old daughter Ruby, said she and the family had been overwhelmed by the messages of support.

She said: “On behalf of myself, Ruby, James’s sister Kim Mottershead and the rest family we would like to thank everyone for their love and support and kind messages. It is helping us through a very difficult time.”

James’s funeral will take place at Macclesfield Crematorium on Friday at 9.20am.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a yellow flower in honour of James.

A celebration of James’s life will take place at the Pack Horse bowling club on Abbey Road at 5pm.

Donations in James's name can be made to the Check ‘Em Lads campaign and the East Cheshire Palliative Care Nurses Fund.
